I went to the SMPS Principal Forum this morning. What a great event! I am so happy I attended. The forum was all about BIM and the legal aspects surrounding it. I discovered a new word while I was there: FEDERATED MODEL. Basically federated models are separate and distinct models that can be seen together. What a great way to describe the Architectural, Structural, and MEP models within Revit! Additionally, a book was mentioned that was written by Stephen Kieran from KieranTimberlake. I didn’t catch the title but I am thinking it was: Refabricating Architecture: How Manufacturing Methodologies are Poised to Transform Building Construction. The book was highly recommended so I will have to pick up a copy!

SMPS is having a Holiday Party next week. The great thing about it is it benefits the Ronald McDonald House. I just bought tickets and I hope to see you there!
